Constipation
Some drugs used in cancer treatment can
cause constipation. To help prevent this problem:
-
Drink at least 8 to 12 eight-ounce glasses of water per day
-
Drink a hot drink about a half hour before
the time you usually have a bowel movement
-
Eat high-fiber foods
-
Exercise (Talk with your doctor about the type
of exercise that might be best for you)
-
Add unprocessed wheat bran to foods
-
Ask your doctor for a laxative ( Do not take
laxatives or stool softeners without first consulting your doctor)
